Awesomism: Fabrics, Flowers and Decor! Peyton and I get asked all the time what exactly is Awesomism. It isn’t one thing specific, it is a conglomeration of many things. Things such as a state of mind, it is a person place or thing that helps turn negativity into positivity.
So many people are hurting right now, and we are just trying to bring some positivity into other people‘s lives.
Today we’re going to explore in this blog how you can do that in your house in very simple ways.
Adding fresh flowers, don’t have a garden, where you can get fresh flowers? don’t have the money to spend to get fresh flowers? Go on a walk if there’s a field nearby.
Sometimes flowers that are weeds, put in a vase with the right candle next to it can make it look calming.
Pillows we love pillows in our house. You can even make pillows out of old shirts, rugs or other items making your house comfortable and cozy. Anything that makes you feel better emotionally and mentally and even physically is Awesomism.
I had a friend who drove down a two-lane road. She spotted an old abandoned barn, surrounded by so many cool, rustic things around the barn, she pulled over, snapped a photo and later printed it. She looked at that picture on her phone and then one day she printed it. Then she grabbed a cheap frame, gave it a rustic makeover, and hung a picture in her room. Now every morning when she wakes up, that image greets her and instantly makes her smile.
You don’t need to spend a lot of money, or redo your entire house. Sometimes, the smallest things create the biggest joy. It might be a favorite mug that brightens your coffee routine. For me, it is calming scent of lavender. In the fall and winter, I love simmering stove top potpourri that fills the house with warmth and comfort.
Too often, we are so wrapped up in the negative things around us or what we don’t have instead of looking at what we do have and making those a part of our everyday positivity journey.
Go change three things in your house after you read this blog, that you know will make you happy. It isn’t going to fix all your problems, but if it stops you from being stressed for 10 minutes, it’s done it’s job.
